LETTER FROM THE TRAINING CO-ORDINATOR

This year has been yet another step forward for our training and our new C.P.P.D. program. It has also been a big step for B.A.H.A. This year B.A.H.A  has completed a 5 year Strategy and Planning program. As Vice Chairman I was appointed to research and produce this plan at the A.G.M. on 28th October with the final voting concluded in favour of it. We now have a name change to A.H.A. as it was felt that we had to move forward with the times, thus making the Association International and not restricting it to the word British.

We also have a new logo. The main objective is to offer Training for our Association Tutors in particular, and to help them understand the Government changes that are to come to fore. These changes will commence in January 2007. I will keep you all updated on all the new changes in our summer News Letter.

This year K.I.H.A. have continued to keep abreast with changes that have come in by updating the Foundation manual and the Tutor manual. I also attended the A.G.M. of  U.K.Healers as Vice Chairman of B.A.H.A. so as to keep abreast of the changes that they were also bring in. It seems the 2007 will have many more changes, but I think we are prepared for it. There are many organisations that look to our training expertise and therefore I am always there to help them where possible. I am able also to be able to keep in touch with the changes that are coming in from the Prince’s Foundation for Integrated Health (PFIH) and the findings of the voluntary regulation of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) therapies. Alternative therapies have recognised standards of theory and practical competence, which will play a part. During the year the Association has seen new tutors in Austria, Portugal and England, and I would like to thank all the hard work that our Assessors do in making it possible to keep to the high standards that K.I.H.A. is renowned for. A new training guide for students has also been introduced in the form of a binder, this will allow to keep all their documents and information together.

The CPD programme has been implemented with the first module already completed this is covered under the heading C.P.P.D. on page 11.
